National Tree Day started in 1996 and has grown into Australia’s largest community tree planting and nature care event. It’s a call to action for all Australians to get their hands dirty and give back to the community. In 2019 Schools Tree Day is Friday 26 July and National Tree Day is Sunday 28 July.
Each year more than 3000 pre-schools, kindergartens, primary and high schools across Australia participate in activities to celebrate Schools Tree Day.
Thousands of people also volunteer their time to plant seedlings and restores thousands of hectares of Australian landscape.
