A new Private Forests Tasmania website under a new outward-facing brand, Tree Alliance, was launched yesterday ahead of the official brand launch today. The new website, www.treealliance.com.au, replaces the old PFT website. Source: Timberbiz
The new brand was launched at a small gathering of farmers, campaign supporters and staff along with the launch of the Integrated Farm Forestry Demonstration Sites Program.
Tree Alliance is a new brand and campaign that brings together the individuals and organisations that want to see Tasmania’s ecology and economy grow through trees.
They share PFT’s beliefs that the right trees in the right place can:
- Increase farm productivity
- Improve water efficiency and water quality
- Improve the carbon balance
- Protect the land for the future; and
- Create high-value timber products.
The demonstration site’s program is designed to help illustrate the multiple benefits of trees on farms.
The project will see 212 hectares of trees planted across Tasmania in the next 12 months, to develop a landscape-scale best practice integration of shelterbelts and woodlots into the Tasmanian agricultural landscape.
The project is co-funded by Private Forests Tasmania, the Federal Government (through the Smart Farming Grant) and primary producers.
