The Victorian Government is leading a trade mission to the United Arab Emirates and Turkey in May, which includes Bruce Bell managing director of Timber Engineered Structures (TES).
The trade mission involves business meetings, networking functions and promotional opportunities for those attending. Mr Bell is the sole representative of the timber industry attending the mission.
The UAE and Turkey both represent significant and growing export markets for Victorian companies and Mr Bell is seeking out further opportunities for his Melbourne-based timber wholesaling business.
TES specializes in Australian native softwood and hardwood engineered products as well as timber coatings such as Cutek.
The UAE relies heavily on imported goods and services and remains the trading hub of the Middle East and North Africa region. It has a sound economy, a fast-growing and youthful population, and excellent growth prospects.
Turkey has a strong and stable economy and one of the fastest growth rates in the world. In the first half of 2011, Turkey’s growth was 10.2 per cent – faster than India or China.
