Hundreds of forest industries representatives and stakeholders along with dozens of federal MPs and Senators will gather in the Great Hall at Parliament House for the event, the first forest industries Gala Dinner since 2017.
“This will be the first opportunity for our industry to hear from the Prime Minister about the progress of the ambitious $300 million forest industries package he announced at the election to work with us to grow our sector, tackle climate change and secure Australia’s future timber and paper needs,” AFPA Chief Executive Officer Ross Hampton said.
Forest industries are a vital part of the Australian economy and of our everyday lives. From the timber for our homes, the paper and packaging for our food, and the pallets for our supermarkets, Australia needs a thriving forest industries sector.
“The Albanese Government has a full policy and funding agenda connected to Australia’s forest industries sector and we thank the Prime Minister for taking time in his busy schedule to address our sector,” Mr Hampton said.
