The data released by the ABS shows that hardwood chip exports totalled more than 5.0 million bdmt, reaching 5,169,673 bdmt or 12.9% higher than in calendar 2014.
Softwood chip exports remained stable in 2015, totalling 653,474 bdmt, just 1.3% less than the prior year.
Based on the data for the first half of fiscal 2016, IndustryEdge remains optimistic that total exports will exceed 6.0 million bdmt in 2015-16.
