Trees from Austria – you might remember them as a wonderful backdrop to some of your favourite scenes in the Sound of Music but they also feature prominently in Australia’s structural timber construction? Source: Timberbiz
Trees have been our most valuable natural resource for centuries.
Together with architects, engineers and innovative construction firms from around the world, Austria’s sustainable timber industry, with an export rate of almost 70%, has always been a driving force in timber construction.
In recent years, Australia has become an important and growing market for timber construction, and has already realized outstanding examples of modern, functional, ecological buildings.
We are proud that sustainably sourced, innovative wood products from Austria have contributed to the success of a vast majority of these projects.
Now representatives from Hasslacher Norica Timber, KLH, Stora Enso, Knapp, Sihga as well as Austrian and Australian engineering experts will discuss innovations in timber construction in Europe and around the world, as well as the developments, challenges and opportunities in the Australian market at two special events.
One event will be held in Melbourne, the other in Sydney.
Topics include cost and environmental benefits, product certification and logistics, fire safety and acoustics, connecting systems and international best practices.
The Melbourne event will be at Library at the Dock, “Performance Room” 107 Victoria Harbour Promenade, Docklands on 1 May.
The Sydney event will be at the International Convention Centre Sydney. Level 5, Room E5.3
14 Darling Drive on 3 May.
Participation is free but pre-registration is mandatory due to limited space availability.
