Icon Fairbrother will work closely with Lyons Architects and Arup Engineering to design and build the multi-use development set to transform the heart of Bendigo.
The hub will centralise the delivery of a range of government services and accommodate up to 1000 local and state government workers, creating a one-stop-shop for customers while building a stronger and collaborative public sector presence in Bendigo.
The base building structure’s preliminary engineering design by Arup is based on a combination on Cross Laminated Timber and glulam.
The hub will provide office space for up to 1000 local and state government workers.
It follows on from the successful use of timber in the construction of the $100 million Ballarat GovHub which saw the Victorian State Government preference timber for the Bendigo GovHub.
Early works on the project are now underway, with the main construction to start in the next few months.
