In an effort to establish a balanced Standards Development Group (SDG) for the revision of the National Forest Stewardship Standard (NFSS) for Australia, the call for expressions of interest to join the SDG has been extended to 10 July 2022. Source: Timberbiz
The SDG is tasked with providing proposals to the FSC ANZ Board on the revision of the NFSS. The revision process is scheduled to take place from July 2022 to November 2024.
We especially encourage candidates with the following profiles to nominate:
- Environmental chamber stakeholders with experience and a skill set relating to the organisation and operation of forest management and conservation at a community, local, regional or grassroots level.
- Social chamber stakeholders with experience and a skill set and input from a workers’ rights organisation or equivalent experience of national-level forest management and workers’ rights issues from a workers’ rights organisation.
- Social chamber stakeholders with experience and a skill set and input from Indigenous forestry in Australia.
