According to GBCA Chair, Rod Fehring, Mr Pozzo’s appointment adds extra depth to the board as it continues to drive an ambitious carbon positive agenda.
“Cbus Property has one of Australia’s largest portfolios of buildings designed and constructed to Green Star benchmarks, and many of the projects delivered under Adrian’s guidance have raised benchmarks for commercial buildings,” Mr Fehring said.
Cbus Property’s portfolio currently exceeds $3.5 billion, with a further $5 billion of development work underway, making Cbus Property one of Australia’s leading integrated property investors. Among Cbus Property’s assets are 1 Bligh Street and 5 Martin Place in Sydney, and 171 Collins Street and 720 Bourke Street in Melbourne.
“I am delighted to be joining the Board of the GBCA and I look forward to working with the Board, Romilly and her management team to continue to drive the transformation of the built environment,” Mr Pozzo said.
“With more than 30 years’ experience as an executive in our industry, Adrian has been a strong advocate of responsible investment that boosts health, wellbeing and delivers leading-edge built form. We are delighted to welcome him to the board,” Mr Fehring said.
Mr Fehring also applauded the contribution of Mark Gray, former managing director of Leighton Properties, who stepped down after four years on the GBCA’s board of directors.
“During his 27 years at the helm of Leighton Properties, Mark demonstrated great leadership in improving the performance of the built environment including its environmental performance – and Leighton Properties undoubtedly drove the green building movement in Queensland for many years. Mark’s work as Chair of our Audit and Risk Committee has left the GBCA in a stronger position,” Mr Fehring said.
Mr Gray was made a GBCA Fellow in November 2017.

The GBCA has certified more than 1730 Green Star projects. Thirty-seven per cent of Australia’s office space is Green Star-rated and more than 725,000 Australians work in Green Star-rated offices. A further 42,000 people live in Green Star-rated apartments. More than 425,000 people are moving into Green Star-rated communities, and 1.3 million people visit a Green Star-rated shopping centre each day.
