Independent Verification Services (IVS) and Hill Laboratories (HL) made a successful collaborative bid to undertake nationwide timber testing services for Carter Holt Harvey Building Supplies (CHH).
IVS partnered with Hill Laboratories in 2010 to develop a comprehensive Timber Preservation Quality Assurance Programme and Timber Testing service. The IVS/HL partnership delivers a unique set of benefits to the timber industry, drawing on IVS’ extensive knowledge of wood processing and quality assurance and world class analytical testing services provided by Hill Laboratories.
CHH is the leading manufacturer and supplier of wood and related products to the Australasian market, including timber, plywood, LVL, particleboard flooring and wood panels.
From January 2011, IVS/HL will provide timber preservation testing services to CHH for CCA, Boron, LOSP and Bifenthrin treatments, ensuring their products are compliant prior to release to market.
The agreement was reached following a lengthy and robust Request for Proposal (RfP) process in which applicants were required to demonstrate competence and capacity. The RfP process was hotly contested with turnaround time, from sample submission to reporting, being a key area of focus.
CHH indicated very early on that they wish to build partnerships with key suppliers who foster a culture of innovation and a long term commitment to exceptional service delivery.
