It’s a cold, hard fact – hardwood is becoming harder to get in Australia.
Dwindling native hardwood resources and Government moves to cease logging have increased the need to establish more hardwood plantations. Recognising this demand, the Queensland Government has established a $1.3m timber research facility to improve the economics of hardwood plantations by turning early plantation thinnings into saleable products.
