Rob de Fegely, National President of the Institute of Foresters of Australia, has issued a warm welcome to delegates representing the Chinese National Forest Products Industry Association and China National Forestry Industry Federation to Australia.
“Australian forestry has had a long association with forestry in China in particular the Dongmen Tree Farm project which commenced over 30 years ago and has contributed to the research and development of eucalyptus as a major plantation species not only in both countries but around the world,” he said.
“We welcome Chinese wood products companies who would like to either invest in processing in Australia or trade wood products with Australian companies.”
