ForestTECH to discuss new tech from key overseas providers

ForestTECH is this region’s annual independent forestry technology series. This year, in addition to advances being made in remote sensing and forest inventory, one of the two days has been set aside to profile the very latest developments in forest establishment, mechanised planting and silviculture. In addition to joint projects between Australian and New Zealand companies, a number of new technologies using AI and deep learning for forest inventories from key tech providers and forestry companies out of Canada, South Africa, Chile and Germany will be presented to local foresters.

This year, from Finland and Sweden, local companies will also be hearing about the very latest drone and forest data capture innovations being used operationally, along with automated solutions that have been developed for seedling packaging and movement, a new planting machine under development and the use of Eco-RFID tags to automate the tracking process of products in the value chain.
