Several important initiatives are already underway, include ing the certification of new forests, the growth of FSC’s promotional licences program, the formation of a Standards Development Group, the revision of the Australian National Forest Stewardship Standard and the review of its National Risk Assessment for Controlled Wood.
Directors serve for three-year terms.
The positions are determined at the FSC Australia’s Annual General Meeting either by direct appointment when number of eligible candidates does not exceed the relevant vacancy, or
are elected by the FSC members when there are more eligible candidates for the vacant positions.
The successful nominees will be determined and announced at the AGM to be held on 26 May 2022, in Melbourne.
Appointments are staggered and occur annually, normally three positions are available every year. This year, due to several casual vacancies in 2022, there are four director positions available across the three chambers.
Key dates must be complied with to ensure eligibility for nomination/voting:
- 24 March 2022: Nominations for Position of Director open
- 22 April 2022: Nominations for Position of Director close
- 1 May 2022: All members nominating for Director or members wishing to vote must be fully paid members (including no arrears) by this date. Members who settle their account after this date will be ineligible for nomination/consideration and ineligible to vote at the AGM.
- 26 May 2022 FSC Australia AGM – Election of Directors.
