Forestry NSW has used mountain bike clubs before to assist with clean up operations and it has worked well.
“We had around 12 volunteers from the Grafton Mountain Bike Club donate brave the rain to help improve our local environment,” Ms Sparrow said. 
“It was fantastic to see the club and other volunteers get behind the event and help make a difference.
“Through their efforts, the area is safer and more enjoyable for other visitors.
“In May this year the club will be hosting a round of the Tier 1 National marathon mountain bike event, showcasing the forest tracks.”
While Ms Sparrow was pleased with the positive efforts of the day, she is also asking the community to be vigilant to dumping over the year.
“State forests and other public place are special places for the community to visit and enjoy,” Ms Sparrow said.
“There are penalties for people caught dumping and we are asking for help if you see dumping taking place.
“If you see dumping or find any illegally dumped material, you can help make a difference by reporting it to the Report Illegal Dumping Line on 131 555.”
