Richers Transport has been providing transport services for Hyne Timber, delivering timber throughout the eastern seaboard for over 30 years.
To mark the occasion, Richers Transport presented Hyne Timber with a framed photo for display at the Tuan Mill.
Shane Robertson, Hyne Timber’s Commercial and Development Manager said the memento was well received and much appreciated, adding that the occasion presented a moment to stop and reflect on 30 years of working together.
Observing that the two companies shared similar origins, Mr Robertson said they have become two of Queensland’s largest family-owned businesses providing employment in regional areas.
Both companies are headquartered in Maryborough, have a multi-site operation, share similar family values, are focussed on their employees, and prioritise safety at work.
According to Mr Robertson, Richers Transport has supported Hyne Timber throughout the years, working with them during flood threats to help move stock and equipment to higher ground, and pitching in to minimise risk and damage.
He added that it was the kind of service one could expect and rely on from a long term partnership with a successful, Maryborough based business.
Graham Richers, Managing Director of Richers Transport and second generation owner describes Hyne Timber as one of its longest term customers since establishment in 1935.
The mutually rewarding partnership has seen the two companies grow and develop together, evolving to meet emerging demands, new technology and safety enhancements for their employees.
For instance, Richers Transport recently embraced the same processes at their Tuan Mill Despatch area as Hyne Timber employees. These systems and training recently saw Hyne Timber win the Queensland Training Awards for Large Employer of the Year category.
Similarly, some of their own initiatives have benefitted both Hyne Timber and the Fraser Coast community such as the ‘GenR8 Project’, which provides work experience placements for year 12 students.
