Benchman

We are seeking a skilled Benchman to join our team at Uki Sawmill. We are an Australian owned and operated hardwood sawmill specialising in Timber for building materials, landscaping, fencing, and furniture.

The Benchman is responsible for preparing timber products ensuring they meet quality standards and specifications.  The ideal candidate will possess technical skills, experience with woodworking , machinery and commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities:

• Operate M A Smith one man bench.
• Operate Canadian (Break down saw).
• Cut and trim timber to specifications.
• Log yard operations.
• Chainsaw operations.
• Operate Front-end Loader.
• Sharpening saws- circular knowledge of goldsmith sharpening machine.
• Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment.
• Timber species identification.
• Collaborate with team members; liaise with Supervisor.
• Assist with customer queries when needed.

You will need previous experience plus a car and licence.
