Natasa Sikman has accepted the position of acting CEO, as the board carries out a robust and independent recruitment process for a new CEO.
In a note to members the board thanked Ms Gibbs for her contribution and leadership as AFPA Chair and for her ongoing commitment to serving the industry as a director of AFPA.
The board also thanked Mr Fitzgibbon for stepping in as interim CEO for a period longer than intended.
“We look forward to having him continue to serve AFPA as a leading figure providing strategic guidance and advocacy support to our members, board and employees,” the note said.
The board said the recruitment of the new CEO is underway, utilising an executive search firm, which will allow for internal and external applicants to be considered.
It is anticipated this process will be completed prior to the AGM in November.
In other moves James Jooste has been appointed AFPA NSW Chief Executive Officer and Policy Manager.
Mr Jooste has spent a decade working in the media and senior government offices.
