For many years W Howard has been working closely with MDF recovery and investing in the development of this technology, which recovers fibre from waste MDF.
Research suggests more than 100 million m3 of MDF was produced worldwide in 2021. Until the invention of this patented recycling technology, much of the waste MDF was sent to landfill or incinerated.
Now, this new partnership will create a new closed loop supply chain that can convert end-of-life MDF products back into wood fibre for insulation. This will also help to provide a much-needed new source of natural insulation – one of Europe’s fastest growing market sectors.
Work has already begun on a brand new recycling facility in Newtown, Powys, with production expected to begin next year.
