The Tasmanian Forest Products Association has congratulated Mr Ellis on his promotion to cabi-net and welcomed him into the vital role of Resources Minister.
“Felix has always been a strong advocate for our sustainable forestry sector, he understands the regions, he values what our industry provides to the state, and he understands the importance of regional employment” TFPA CEO Nick Steel said.
“We know Felix will continue to be a strong supporter of our local, renewable, and sustainable forestry sector and we look forward to working closely with him.
“I would like to thank Minister Barnett for his hard work and dedication in advocating for and supporting our industry. As he continues to work with construction and housing we know he will carry on to spread the word that ‘wood is good’.”
Mr Barnett is expected to retain his State Development, Construction and Housing, Energy and Renewables and Veterans’ Affairs portfolios.
