While the current board is well balanced, there is interest for individuals with downstream experience in the design and construction sector, with an emphasis on some or all of the following areas:
- building materials with a sound knowledge of timber and wood products
- built environment expertise
- sustainability and environment
- building standards and regulation
- renewable and waste to energy technologies
- demand side and energy efficiency
- circular economy with interests in reuse, recycling and waste management strategy

An independent director selection committee will consider proposals from candidates and recommend to the AGM a person for nomination for appointment as a director.
The committee is required to ensure that the nomination will result in a balanced, skills-based board.
