A new mobile preservative treatment plant will soon be traveling from New Zealand to the rural and maritime islands for treatment of sawn timber. Source: Fiji News
In handing over the treatment plant, a representative from Crusader Engineering in New Zealand, Brian Hussey said that this is the first-ever mobile treatment plant for the South Pacific region.
Mr Hussey said when they were approached by the Ministry of Forests to design and build a mobile treatment plant, they were honored and believe that the treatment plant will save a lot of time and money for people in the rural areas as well as in the maritime islands.
While receiving the mobile treatment plant, Minister for Forests, Osea Naqaimu said that he was proud to receive the new mobile treatment plant on behalf of the Fiji Government from the Crusaders Engineering Company of New Zealand.
The new Mobile Timber Treatment Plant was ordered through Crusaders Engineering in Auckland New Zealand and the equipment was designed and manufactured at a cost of NZ$300,000.
