Opal (nee Australian Paper) has won a gold award for Sustainable Packaging Design of the Year – Product Protection at the 2020 Australasian Packaging Innovation & Design (PIDA) Awards. Source: Timberbiz
The award was presented for Opal’s Moulded Paper Insert; a renewable alternative to plastic inserts for protecting fresh produce.
This recyclable product can be utilised for a wide range of applications. Avocado and mango versions are currently available in multiple count sizes within the fresh produce industry.
As well as being made from renewable materials, the individually Moulded Paper Inserts provide shock and vibration protection along with ventilation and moisture control to ensure fresh produce integrity.
