The International Sustainable Forestry Coalition (ISFC) formally launched during New York Climate Week and released a hard copy of its Position Paper.
The Position Paper outlines the group’s vision to grow the fibre for the circular bio-economy while seeking to scale up solutions for climate change, halting deforestation and biodiversity loss, and enhancing the lives and livelihoods of Indigenous Peoples, small holders and rural communities. The paper is available at www.isfc.world
Highly credentialed, United States based, PotlatchDeltic has been accepted as a new member to join the founding companies of the ISFC.
ISFC members have stewardship over 10 million hectares of forests in 27 countries on all forest growing continents.
“We are very pleased PotlatchDeltic has chosen to join the collective voice of the ISFC,” Convening Chair of the ISFC and Executive Chair of New Forests, Dr David Brand said.
“For 120 years this great American company has been seeking to continue to improve across all aspects of the business. It is a perfect fit for the ambition of the ISFC as we seek to enter the conversation with vitally interested fellow travellers regarding how nature-based solutions can be brought to scale to help solve landscape level challenges.”
President and Chief Executive Officer of PotlatchDeltic, Mr Eric Cremers said, sustainably managed working forests promoted forest health and biodiversity, provided important societal benefits, and were a key component of solutions for mitigating climate change.
“We are pleased to join the International Sustainable Forestry Coalition to work together to support forests and to advance the circular bioeconomy through natural climate solutions,” he said.
