The Tasmanian Forest Contractors Association welcomes the announcement by Deputy Premier Bryan Green of the first year’s funding of a two year program to support forest workers and their families with a tailored counselling service.
“Most contractors will be aware and very appreciative of the excellent counselling service being undertaken by Rural Alive and Well”, TFCA CEO Ed Vincent said.
“During this period of uncertainty in the forest industry and in people’s lives, it is critical that good counsel is provided, which this announced funding will help deliver.”
It is also good to know that the RAW service will be able to be delivered for the next two years. While people adjust their lives to the changes over the next months and indeed years, the demand for that counselling will continue”.
“I do ask that anyone who feels that either they, or anyone they know, can be helped by this state wide counselling service, contact Rural Alive and Well on 6259 3014”.
