Wendy Fennell is the chair of the Council that had its first meeting in Mount Gambier.
Minister for Primary Industries and Regional Development Tim Whetstone said he was excited to hear from the 11-member Council.
“The intellectual firepower of this group excites me; they are international, national and local leaders in their fields,” said Minister Whetstone.
“The group includes representatives from the full value chain from forest owners, forest managers, harvest and haulage, small timber manufacturers, large timber manufacturers, timber biomass to farm forestry.
“I know individual council members have strong strategic ideas on the future of this industry.
“What I’m most excited about is bringing this group together, with their combined knowledge of the full value chain, and the listening to their advice on ways to super-charge growth of the forest industries in South Australia.”
