In order to develop the necessary harvesting and haulage capacity, ABP is seeking expressions of interest (EOI) for the provision of harvesting and transport services.
Australia Bluegum Plantations Pty Ltd (ABP) is an industry leader in both the establishment and management of Eucalyptus globulus (Blue Gum) plantations throughout Australia. ABP has a total plantation estate in excess of 91,500 hectares, operating in both the Green Triangle region of South Australia and Victoria and in Western Australia. Harvesting and haulage operations are expected to start late 2010 and scale up to an annual cut of 1,200,000 green metric tonnes per annum in the Green Triangle.
ABP is committed to managing its operations sustainably, as demonstrated by Forest Stewardship Council Certification of the estate.
ABP was created by Global Forest Partners (GFP), an international plantation timber investment management group based in New Hampshire (USA). The total value of plantation investments under management by GFP globally exceeds $3 billion.
