Valtra chose the fair to launch a new product, a forest version of its High Tech 4. The tractors are basically the A series equipped with a new type of gearbox. Instead of 12 mechanical gears, this version has a powershift with 16 electric gears.
“This is the first time the tractor is being exhibited at a trade fair with this gearbox,” MPer Wretblad of Lantmännen Maskin said.
The forestry version’s features include belly plates, a steel fuel tank instead of a plastic one, lamp guards, rear window grommet to run the crane cables into the cab, and diagonal tyres. The last-mentioned need explaining.
“This year we’ve really invested in delivering a high-quality fair,” Mattias Pontén, fair manager of SkogsElmia and Elmia Wood said.
“We’ve listened to previous years’ exhibitors and visitors and tried to learn from that. Throughout the fair, I’ve received positive feedback about the entire event. We’re extremely satisfied with how it’s gone, and what is particularly pleasing is that we’ve already had many exhibitor bookings for Elmia Wood 2021.”
Numerous exhibitors summed up this year’s SkogsElmia as an important meeting place.
“If we’re going to be doing this we have to be at SkogsElmia. We’ve met the right target group and had a lot of interest at this year’s fair,” Johannes Nilsson, CEO of the machine manufacturer Vimek said.
Torbjörn Sjödin, Tracy of Sweden said: “The most positive surprise at this year’s fair was that the visitors came from so many countries. We’ve gained contacts as far away as Laos and Japan.”
The next event is Elmia Wood on 18–21 May 2021.
