The New Zealand Southern Wood Council Awards program for 2019 has been announced. The program is run in conjunction with Competenz and the event will be hosted at the Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin, New Zealand. Source: Timberbiz
Forest managers, forestry contractors, transport operators and product and service suppliers to the industry from throughout the lower South Island will attend. Around 350 have attended each year.
This will be the fifth major awards evening for the industry in the lower South Island.
This is an opportunity for all those involved in training, growing, processing and transporting wood and for those who support the industry through the provision of products and services to get together.
To ensure the success of these and ongoing awards, nominate an individual or company that has stood out in 2018-19. Nominations close on 29 March 2019.

- Apprentice of the Year
- Forestry Trainee of the Year – harvesting
- Forestry Trainee of the Year – silviculture
- Forestry Excellence Award
- Wood Processing Excellence Award
- Forest Products Logistics/Transport Excellence Award
- Training Contractor/Company of the Year Award
- Forestry/Wood Proudcts Health & Safety Excellence Award
- Forestry Environmental Management Excellence Award
