EWPAA Annual Conference Day and Industry Dinner will be held next week in Surfers Paradise.
The event includes a dinner with entertainment and presentation of industry awards to members of the Engineered Wood Products Association of Australasia.
The conference program will include presentations by a number of organisations including:
BDO Australia, the fifth largest full service accounting and advisory network globally, which will summarise the carbon tax assistance qualification and the upcoming legislation and its effects on the wood products industry.
Poyry, a global consulting and engineering company dedicated to balanced sustainability and responsible business, will outline changes to international wood supply and production.
Raute, a technology company serving the wood products industry worldwide, will present on the latest high-tech veneer grading and handling equipment.
Former CSIRO scientist and technical advisor to the wood preservation industry Dr Harry Greaves will update the conference on wood preservation standards. Dr Greaves has been involved in the ongoing discussions and negotiations with Standards Australia as well as industry through Forest and Wood Products Australia and the Timber Preservers Association of Australia.
The event takes place Tuesday, April 17 at the Watermark Hotel & Spa Gold Coast, 3032 Surfers Paradise Boulevard, Surfers Paradise.
