In places where the cities and towns are close to one another, there is a need for truck tyres that serve reliably in medium and regional transport. And even if the winters don’t get quite as extreme as in Nordic, it is reassuring to have tyres that can handle any kind of weather. The Nokian E-Truck tyre series was especially created for these kinds of conditions.
The new product extends the Nokian E-Truck Steer range of steer axle tires. In a size of 385/55R22.5, it is meant for medium and regional transport in populated areas.
On and off-road transports involve driving in two different worlds. There is the on-road part with different road surfaces and conditions, and the off-road part which usually means an earthmoving site or a distant forestry site. The Nokian R-Truck tire family is made to work in both worlds.
“In off-road use, safe grip is ensured with the good self-cleaning properties of the open tread pattern,” said Teppo Siltanen. “Safety and economy are further improved with cut and crack resistant rubber compound with low heat build-up.
“A balanced tyre serves well in these two very different environments. The Nokian R-Truck tyre series is equally at home on the road and on a worksite, with features to enable long and trouble-free service life.
“Timber transport is a perfect application for the new product. It combines heavy trailers with journeys on forest roads and forestry sites.”
