After almost two years as the communications manager for the Victorian Association of Forest Industries (VAFI), John Liston has packed his bags and is heading off to tackle new and exciting challenges in the United Kingdom.
John departed VAFI at the end of September after a highly successful period servicing the Victorian timber industry, and will set sail for his new home of London in the coming weeks.
After a wide and a strenuous search for a successful replacement, James Copsey has taken over the role.
“The Victorian timber industry is facing a number of unique challenges at the moment, and I am excited to be able to assist our many members through the use of effective communication tactics. I am greatly looking forward to getting to know the many members of the Victorian timber industry over the coming months,” Copsey said.
James joins VAFI after spending the last two years working for a global marketing and communications consultancy, Mulberry PR. Prior to that he was employed as part of the media and communications team at Melbourne’s largest water retailer, Yarra Valley Water. James has successfully undertaken tertiary studies in both Public Relations and Contemporary Australian Politics.
With a wide mix of both private sector and Government experience, James is well suited to tackle the many challenges he will likely face in his new role servicing the communications needs of the many members of the Victorian timber industry.
