This review will identify any improvements that could be made to the owner drivers and Forestry Contractors Act 2005 (ODFC Act) and Owner Drivers and Forestry Contractors Regulations 2006 (the Regulations).
It will explore whether any changes should be made to improve the position of owner drivers and forestry contractors in Victoria, while maintaining a competitive and fair operating environment for small businesses in Victoria.
The ODFC Act is designed to improve the position of small businesses in the transport and forestry industries by providing them with information and support to operate successful businesses.
It also provides a framework for resolving disputes in a timely and cost effective manner.
The purpose of the review is to consider the changes that have occurred within the Victorian transport and forestry industries and at the national level, since the introduction of the ODFC Act and Regulations.
A key aspect of the review is to hear from owner drivers, forestry contractors, hirers, businesses, unions, employer associations and other interested stakeholders. In contributing to the Review, interested parties are asked to respond to the Terms of Reference.
