“We had over 30 volunteers donate their Sunday to help improve our local environment,” Ms Bennetts said.
“It was fantastic to see the Orange Mountain Bike Club and other volunteers get behind the event and help make a difference.
“Through their efforts we filled two skip bins of rubbish and removed 15 trailer loads from the forest, leaving the area a better place for people to enjoy.”
While Ms Bennetts was pleased with the positive efforts of the day, she is also asking the community to be vigilant to dumping over the year.
“State forests and other public place are special places for the community to visit and enjoy,” Ms Bennetts said.
“There are penalties for people caught dumping and we are asking for help if you see dumping taking place.
“If you see dumping or find any illegally dumped material, you can help make a difference by reporting it to the Report Illegal Dumping Line on 131 555.”
