Volvo Trucks collected feedback from the field to create the safest, most comfortable and innovative vehicle for those tasked with protecting the community during times of crisis.
A key focus during the development of the crew cab was to create a working environment that makes a firefighter’s job easier while also supporting the health and well-being of teams in the challenging conditions they face.
This has resulted in a more human centric approach to emergency vehicle design, with new standards in performance, ergonomics and driver safety.
Volvo Group Australia President & CEO Martin Merrick was on-hand to unveil the vehicle. “We’re aware it’s been a very tough few years for this sector and we continue to see the devastating effects of climate change,” he said.
“This truck represents Volvo’s commitment to the emergency services, and to a more sustainable future. It’s been designed to meet the needs of emergency services. The result is a safe, innovative, and fit for purpose truck that we are very proud to share with you.”
Volvo Group Australia also reaffirmed the intention to build these crew cabs in Australia.
