Gary Morgan AM AFSM will provide a brief round-up of findings and recommendations which were released by State-level inquiries and the Royal Commission into the 2019-2020 events. He will compare those to past seasons.
The webinar will then focus on preparation in light of the NSW Inquiry finding that our land requires an increase in prescribed burning.
Mr Morgan chairs the IFA/AFG Fire Management Committee and he was Chief Fire Officer for Public Land Victoria and CEO of the Bushfire cooperative Research Centre for seven years.
Dr Lachie McCaw will present from his significant knowledge and experience into how to introduce prescribed burning into a landscape and also as a private forest grower. He will provide guidance to other private growers so they can prepare for the new fire season.
Dr McCaw has worked in forestry since 1980 and is a Registered Professional Forester with skills in native forest management.
