THE MOST important international meeting of the forestry sector in 2012 is calling for Australian and Kiwi forest industry people to get involved.
The Forest Industry Contractors Association (FICA) is organising a trip to the 16th “KWF Tagung” (German for ‘Meeting’), scheduled to take place from 13-16 June 2012 in Bopfingen, Germany under the Motto: “Fascinating Forestry – winning by cooperation”.
“We want to make it easy for Australians and New Zealanders to head along to this event as it will be well worth it,” said John Stulen, chief executive of FICA.
The KWF-Tagung ranks among the biggest Forestry Technology Demofairs in the world. The KWF-Tagung is staged every four years at different locations.
The KWF-Tagung is traditionally divided into three elements; KWF-Expo, field trips and scientific congress. The last KWF-Tagung, which took place in 2008 in Schmallenberg, attracted more than 43,000 professional visitors.
The KWF-Expo is part of the KWF-Tagung and sited in a forest setting. More than 400 exhibitors from more than 20 countries will present their latest developments and state-of-the-art technologies on an area covering 100ha of fields and forest.
National and international exhibitors will demonstrate products from a wide range of forest technological application fields including: – ICT (information and communication technology), wood transport, municipal technology, energy technology work safety. The program is augmented by special shows focussing on specific topics, innovation premieres and live competitions.
