This seminar aims to provide property owners, asset managers, engineers, architects and quantity surveyors with knowledge they need to seek a wood first outcome for commercial buildings.
The program includes information about LVL, CLT, Glulam and fabrication, it covers design including connections, durability, engineering and construction with case studies.
Presentations will be given include different wood based materials and their benefits alongside recent innovation in connection design in commercial construction to advance timber structure designs, manufacture and assembly to truly compete with other materials in the commercial construction sector.
An in-depth session will be presented from the engineers behind current timber buildings covering connections, seismic design and long span structures.
Following the WoodSmart Seminar is the NZ Wood Resene Timber Design Awards starting at 5.30pm with cocktails and canapes while you view the finalists designs.
Then at 6.30pm the winners and highly commended entries will be announced.
