Fire protection specialist Wormald will be showcasing a range of its fire protection equipment and systems suitable for the forestry industry at AUSTimber, starting next week in Mount Gambier.
Wormald’s vehicle fire suppression (VFS) systems provide risk management for heavy vehicles against the threat of fire.
The Foam Water Spray VFS System features high pressure and small droplet nozzles which target risk areas such as engine and transmission compartments, and hydraulic areas. Wormald’s Ansul A 101 Vehicle Powder System, which discharges a dry powder known as Foray into the risk area to suppress the fire, has been described as well suited to three dimensional liquid fuel fires.
Wormald will also showcase the ELSA (Emergency Life Support Apparatus) escape breathing apparatus from Scott Safety at the event.
The ELSA is designed to aid escape from hazardous atmospheres such as fires.
A spokesperson for Wormald said: “The apparatus is simple to put on in an emergency situation and provides powerful protection from harmful gases.
“Providing breathable air, the ELSA escape breathing apparatus consists of a compressed air cylinder, a supply hose to air hood and stowage bag. The air supply is automatically activated upon opening the stowage bag.”
The ELSA escape breathing apparatus features a duration whistle to alert the user if the air supply is running low and the carbon dioxide levels within the air hood exceed the performance specification.
“A dedicated Wormald team will be on hand at the AUSTimber exhibition (Stand 49) to demonstrate the various features of the Wormald products,” the spokesperson said.
